it had been a couple years since i played smoogies regularly, so i didn't even know that this update was happening! but this has been one of the most enjoyable improvements to a pet game i've played almost ever. i love the adventure feature, i love that most of the original mechanics are still there, i love that there is a story you can play! this seems to have only started back up a few weeks ago, so any bugs i've run into are to be expected and were resolved quickly. it still has the original charm, and i really hope to see more people playing and talking in the forums soon! i just transferred one of my original pets back into the game and i am overjoyed that i get to still keep my silly worm :)

I love reading this! :) This is why I built Smoogies in the first place. I was in doubt wether to trash it or rebuild it. I know now rebuilding was the right decision. Thanks so much for sharing!
If you don't mind me asking: What age were you when you first played, and what age are you now? Any changes in your life? (I sure know there have been loads of changes in mine in 20 years)
my older sister introduced the game to me when i was probably around 7, and i’m now 23! i lost my first account, but i remembered the website one day when i was trying to replay all my favorite pet games and started playing it again in highschool. i always wanted a worm or dragon style pet when i was a kid and when i was in school i kept up with the game and finally got one! its crazy growing up with something and seeing it change so much, and so often it changes for the worse. i got an email that this new site was here and it was an absolute blast from the past, but i absolutely adore it. i have been telling my friends about it and i really hope they pick it up too, i remember back when i was a kid when the marketplace was a thing and you could trade pets, i hope one day this place becomes that active again. thank you so much for putting time and care back into this instead of scrapping it!! i am absolutely obsessing over it haha

Instead of the marketplace you can now sell your pet back at the petstore. I decided to make it less prone to fraud and less crying kids / young adults is always something good, right? :)
